Marlborough Sounds
For Marlborough Sounds accommodation, Te Mahia Bay is bush clad and beautiful, just 45 minutes from Havelock and 10 minutes before Portage Resort Hotel. Alternatively the water taxi in Queen Charlotte Sound can deliver you to Waterfall Bay only 10 minutes walk over the hill to Te Mahia
The bach is along a private road towards the end of the Bay, very sheltered and facing west for the last of the sun. Boats can be launched at the bottom of the lawn straight into the Bay. There are great fishing spots in Kenepuru Sound, Pelorus Sound, past Maude Island and out to the Chetwoods in Cook Strait.
Tastefully decorated with 3 double bedrooms and 2 extra double mattresses in the mezzanine it is an excellent retreat. A little Bohemian as the main bed is situated at the rear of the living downstairs! Big dining tables, BBQ, outside shower, decking and direct access to the water from the front lawn all allow for a very relaxed stay
There is plenty of opportunity for walking and cycling; the Queen Charlotte Walkway is easily accessed a few minutes up the road.
